GNTO is a TAAS-owned and operated observatory located south of Belen, NM. Located under beautiful dark skies and situated in a remote area, this dark-sky facility will provide some exceptional viewing. The site includes 24 Observing Pads and two fixed piers, a café & warmup building, a 16-inch equatorially mounted f/6 Cave Newtonian reflector housed in the Main Dome, a 14-inch Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope with CCD housed in the Imaging Dome. TAAS Members will operate the site telescopes and provide their own telescopes for observing. This is an excellent opportunity to experience the great night skies that New Mexico offers.
For those ALCON attendees that will be driving to Albuquerque with their observing equipment and wish to use their equipment at GNTO we will make arrangements to allow you to drive down to the site. If you are interested in this option send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
